How It Works
1 · Register
Connect your shop and your listing images and files are fingerprinted, then signed and timestamped. That registration record — not a hidden watermark — is what dates your work. Watermarking is offered on top, as a tracer.
2 · Monitor
CerboTrace watches marketplace listings through reverse-image search APIs and official platform APIs, buying access rather than scraping around it. Detection is designed for the artifact theft actually produces: your design on someone else's mockup photo, or as one cell in a 50-design bundle grid.
3 · You confirm
Every candidate match is labelled Exact, Derived or Similar and shown side by side with an overlay diff. Nothing moves forward until you confirm it. We inform; you decide.
4 · Evidence pack
A confirmed match becomes a report you can use: registration certificate, timestamps, which transformations were detected, screenshots and URLs — plus a pre-filled DMCA or platform notice that you send, under your own name. We never file on your behalf.

CerboTrace monitors marketplace listings for infringing copies. No watermark is unremovable and we won't claim otherwise. What makes theft traceable is a signed, timestamped registration of your work, plus detection that still recognises the design after it has been rasterised, recoloured, cropped onto a mockup, or round-tripped through cutting software.
"Couldn't someone register my design as theirs?"
Not usefully. A registration is a dated record, not a claim of ownership — and a new one that matches an existing design triggers review rather than quietly creating a rival claim. Earliest verifiable creation still wins: a timestamped Etsy listing from six months ago beats a brand-new registration, here or anywhere.
Registering stolen work gets an account terminated, and filing a false takedown is perjury under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). The full answer is in the Q&A.

Onboarding is "paste your Etsy shop URL": listings import, preview images register, and new listings are picked up when you publish them. Delivered files can be attached afterwards. Nobody hand-uploads a whole catalogue.

A protection tool must not damage the file
Our acceptance bar for watermarked SVGs is that they render pixel-identical at 300 DPI and cut identically — verified by path-length and bounding-box checks, not by eyeballing it. Your buyers keep receiving standard, compatible files.
A priority record, honestly labelled
Registrations are signed and anchored with independent RFC 3161 timestamps, and the certificate says what it is: first registered with CerboTrace by this account on this date. That is a priority record. It is not a finding of ownership, and no service can issue one.
